OOPS!
(Preview)
I'd like to hear from some of that have been on stage more than I have, on this one.
Lets say you'r playing along in a solo and you blow it big time. I don't mean you did'nt do the three draw a full step. I mean you screwed up royally. How do you make the best of that?
Do you find where you should be and keep tempo...

I would be intrested to hear what process other harp players go through when learning a new song. I know we all learn differantly but there may be some similarities.
I tend to listen to the song first, from as many differant artist as I can. I try to get the origonal version if I can find it. I listen until...

Tried Some Bends
(Preview)
Earleir today, I ran across the Hohner Bluesband Harp that I bought for my grandaughter. It was sitting under some papers on the coffeetable when I saw it. I was really just checking to make sure it was not one of my harps. I picked it up and just started to play a little. (I have only played straight harp, j...

Frankenstine Harp collection
(Preview)
When I first started to play the harp, I didn't know there was a differance in the quality of the little rascals. Sounds silly now, but as a raw beginner I didn't think about it much. I was happy to toot out a tune or two and go on my way. Then there was the bright shiney 12 harp set I saw in a music store window. H...

Jam Camp!
(Preview)
It would be great to hear from some of you jam campers! What was it Like to play and work with the big boys and girls? What are you working on now? What did you learn? What's it like to play in local clubs? Are the instructers human or are they androids that never miss a note? -- Edited by michael at 16:22, 2008...

Puckering vs. Tounge Blocking
(Preview)
It appears to me that the more advanced harpists use the pucker rather than the tounge-blocking method. (especially for more advanced effects) I am much better at tounge-blocking, should I work more on puckering, especially for bends?
Best regards,

harmonica brass question
(Preview)
I was wondering about what metals make up a harmonica. I know brass is one. I guess my concern is the use of lead. I read that brass is an alloy of zinc and copper but some add lead to ease production. I hope that harmonica manufacturers don't use any lead. Any thoughts?

Guitar player wanted!
(Preview)
How might a harmonica player go about finding a guitar player to jam and practice with?
I concider myself an intermeidate student of the harp, so I'm not looking to start a band and tour Europe. Live interaction with another musician would help mine and his/her progress.
Should I run an add in the loc...

what model harmonica?
(Preview)
I would like to find out what model harmonica Bob Dylan is using on the song a simple twist of fate, from the blood on the tracks cd. I have a 10 hole key of A but all the notes don't seem to be there.
