That's good to hear that there'll be 20 or so of us. I am just surprised that there's been no talk of it in this forum. (Truth be told, I'm surprised that there is not more talk in general in the forum - very infrequent new posts.)
I'm coming up from RI, and I'm a little removed from the local music scene (12+ yrs married, two kids) so I'm not familiar with the Racky Thomas Band, but within 1.5 hrs of Natick there lots of great musicians to be found. Boston and Providence have rich traditions, and Worcester and Springfield are college towns.
I'll be at the Boston jam camp. Just talked to Jon last night and he said there are 20+ people signed up, so no worries. They've got some cool local musicians to back us as well, including Nick Adams on guitar (of the Racky Thomas Band, who played at my wedding last year).
Should be a blast! I've heard that informal jamming goes on after the camp schedule ends until the wee hours.
Since I found this website and found out about the camps, I have been anxiously waiting for the time it came close enough to me to attend. Then, much to my chagrin, it happened sooner rather than later, and with two toddlers and an ill wife (not terminal - thank God - but everyday life is a challenge) I thought I would have to pass. But my Mrs. knew I really wanted to go and arranged for help from our families while I attend. It took her all of two seconds to convince me, so Boston - here I come!
Now, other than the "ad" for the Boston session, I can find no other mention of it - certainly not in this section. Please, please, PLEASE tell me others are coming! I'd hate to hear that there isn't enough interest...
(Jon - I will be contacting you in a week or two to schedule our one-on-one phone session. Since I did enroll I was buried at work prepping for a week off, and now I'm in the midst of that week, and never knowing where I'll be on any given day until that day gets here.)
