rmorgen, I apologize if my remarks seemed a bit harsh. A wiser man than myself might have given it some thought, then responded in a softer tone. The harmonica is just one of the things I'm learning. Michael
As a new member of the video club (01-07-08) I can fully understand why your fellow harpers find the content of great intrest. See comment I posted on "what would you recommend?" section of this fourm. And you are to be commended in your leadership roll with the harp club for carrying out the task of asking, and reporting back like you told them you would. When I joined ,a week or so ago, we had just come through the Christmas season. Janurary 2nd was my wife's birthday. And the two front tires on my truck are so bald that if you look really close, you can see air. I'm not bringing this up as a "poor me" kind of thing. But rather to point out that I too am "fiscally" challenged, and was when I joined. If this is allowed, those that are in on it will want to copy the videos so they can work on the content between meetings. Having paid a reduced price, they will not value them for the great instruction that they are. Sam gives a copy Joe...in 6 months the entire series is on You tube. Subscriptions drop. Jon is not motivated to work on updates. And the whole thing leaves me feeling like I should have bought the tires. If these students are not willing to make the commitment, one year from now, they will not be better players than they are now, with or without the video harp club. The rest of us will lose out
Jon, can a harmonica club purchase a video club membership so they can practice as a group? Our little club is fiscally challenged with only one of us able/willing to pay for individual membership. After I joined some want me to make CD's for them on the sly. I refuse to do that but said I would ask if the club could join instead? The idea is the club would buy one membership so all members could use the lessons.
I fully understand that you are a profit making business, not a social agency. I believe if a person wants to learn they should pay the teacher. But I am the leader so told them I would ask. See you in May at Gig Harbor.
