there used to be until a week (or so) ago...I checked it for you but the link doesn't work anymore, perhaps the jam page is gone (didn't have too much traffic I guess)
Is this the proper fourm to upload songs we have been working on? Is there another fourm more appropriate for that? Michael ( A "not ready for you-tube, player")
I think there is some Huckleberry Finn in most of us, even after we are grown. I can picture my wife making me go to the "symphony",put on a clean shirt with the top button choking me.... I'll bet half of the men were ready to walk out, untill they heard you on the harmonica. Sounds like a good time was had by all. Michael
Leon: I just played " Turkey in the Straw" last weekend with a pro symphony in Milwaukee. It was included in the composition, "Pops Hoedown," by Richard Hayman.
I played mostly percussion, and the 32-bar rendition of Turkey in the Straw. Pops Hoedown is a collection of popular up-tempo hillbilly folk tunes, in the hoedown style.
The audience was listening quietly until they heard the harmonica, and then they started stomping their feet and clapping in time.
Anyway, my favorite tune is Magic Dick's version of "Whammer Jammer." Someday, I might learn to play it.
Just a thought....... if you have a favorite harp song, either to play or listen to, let's share. (Mine is "Turkey in the Straw", originally an Irish fiddle song.)
