Just like Chevrolet makes different styles of automobiles, the Hohner Co. makes different styles/ models of harmonicas.
The Marine Band and the Special 20 are two different models made by the same Co.
As far as a "blues" harmonica. You can play blues on any harmonica. (10 hole)Blues is the way you play it using bent notes and the blues scale. Not so much the instrument itself. On a guitar one could play classical, acid rock or bluegrass. All this range on the same guitar. So it is with a standard 10 hole harmonica. It's how you play the instrument...not the instrument.
Marine Band is a good harp. And you can play blues in it. Special 20 is a good harp. And you can play blues on it.
My recommendation would be to get a special 20 in the key of "C" and a copy of Jon Gindick's book "Rock-N-Blues harmonica"
I've seen a Special 20 Harp and it says marine band on the top. I wanted to know if this is a blues harmonica?
I've seen a lot of videos with guys playing the Special 20 Harp and it gets a little confusing.
I've never played the harmonica before, but when i hear the blues being played on one i get this feeling, and i really feel the music more than any other i listen too.
I don't want to buy a standard one i really want a blues one, but i really need to know i am getting a blues one :)
I know they do one called the blues harp and i will get that later.
Any info would realy help, thanks
Ps this is the link to the music shop where i'm getting the harp from, is this one the rigth one? the Special 20 Harp marine band ? http://www.maestro-music.co.uk/html/harmonicas.html
