You want to stay away from the low end. wail on 5d 6d 9d 10d. Resolve on 1d 4d and 8d. Looks like the 2d and 3d can be used as wailing notes but they have got to be bent. Bent how much I don't know.
I know there is a lot you can do from 4 and above. I'll work in the 2d and 3d when I get a better feel for 3rd position. Jon has a great example of a third position song as a lesson in the video harp club. Called the "work song"
Sat in again tonight, more 3rd position. I find riffs that work, but need to drill on 3rd position scale. I know it's in "rock-n-blues, but what is the 3rd pos. scale?
Started playing with a variety of musicians, now it's not just blues. Doing some country, jazz and funk. some of it I don't know how how to define.
What I am sure of is that while I'm searching the harp for something that "fits", I find myself in third position.
I guess I like 2nd so much I tended to hang out there. Finding that I need explore other parts of the harp to play well with others. This too is a good thing.
