I've heard nothing but bad reports on this Harp Depot outfit. I have used Rockin Rons with good success and everyone else on th net has just been loving Ron lately. He's very fast and will communicate with you.
No, the Delta plates were delivered correctly, it was the Hering 1923 C reeds that were the wrong ones, but what galls me most of all, is that having sent my harmonica and the wrong reeds they sent back to them, nearly two years' ago now, Harp Depot haven't had the decency to respond. They've probably put my old harp in the bin and the new reeds back in stock.
From your reply, then, but not wanting to put you on the spot, though, would you recommend the Bushman suppliers? I have also bought from John Hall.
Since you're also waiting on Delta plates, you might want to drop by at the Bushman forum and state your case.... The owner of Bushman (John Hall) is a friend of the owner of Harp Depot, not that that really will help a lot, but it might attract some attention. Plus, I'm pretty sure that the harp depot people also check the Bushman forum from time to time , especially because it would not be the first time this kind of problem came up...
Has anyone else had any dealings with the Harp Depot company? I've bought quite a lot of stuff from them over the years but have become very disillusioned with them. One order for the 220-C Trumpet Call - made nearly two years ago now - has still not been met.
And in September 2007, I ordered and received Delta Frost Reed Plates for my G Harp and some Reed Plates that were supposed to have been replacement reeds for my nice Hering Vintage 1923 C Harp. These proved to be the wrong ones and so I sent them back with my said harmonica and asked them to provide the right ones. That was two years' ago now and I'm still waiting for them to return it to me. Some service! Emails to them don't receive replies.
Anyone like to offer their opinion and which companies are worth dealing with?
Sorry to sound so negative here but it does annoy you when it's your money.
