I did not know the songs they were playing, But it was all standard Blues tunes. Was able to follow the chord structer and contribute to the music. I worked the 2D and root notes of the chords While others played, in there to back them, but kind of low key, Untill they gave me the nod, only then did I do a full progression, or two when Hash said "go on"
Each of the band members told me off stage, that a lot of harp players will stomp all over everyone and play what they want. They thanked me for not doing that and asked me back.
I think a lot of people started like me, I have played for hundreds of hours...by myself. Listening to CD's, playing to backing tracks and studying everything I can find...by myself. I am learning to work with others on stage. Listen to what they are doing, watch they are doing. Eye contact, a nod of the head. It's all new to me. Hash and his band were great about working with me on that stuff, I will never forget it.
Played on stage at a club in Downtown Fort Worth, with Hash Brown...What an honor, trip, Blast and a $@*# load of fun.
Drummer named "Gonzy" and "Cadillac" on Bass. Great musicians/Band. They took it easy with me and made me sound gooder than I am. Had the time of my life, what a BLAST.
