RE: Question from a newbie harp player

Hello J,

Nothing wrong with with your harps... the reeds inside are different (in length) and therefor they respond differently. You will find that if you get other keys (or brands) that they are all slightly different. Higher keys, and higher notes on a harp are generally are more difficult to play.

I use Delta Frosts and Harp Masters and they don't give much problems (on the high notes) The good news.... you will get used to it with time, for now I would take it easy on the high notes and if you DO decide to spend more time above hole 6, I wouldn't force it... play gentle and it will come...

Hope this helps biggrin

Hello, I have been playing for 1 month on Hohner Special 20  #key C  . But I have some troubles with the holes 8,9,10 .. I have to blow very hard into them to get sound, they seem very slow responsive and the sound appears suddenly .. I thought that maybe something is wrong with my technique but before one week i bought Hohner Special 20 #Key A and the same holes there are so nice...
Do you think something is wrong the first harmonica ?
Unfortunately I don't know anyone playing harp in the city where I live now otherwise I'll ask him.. That is why I'm writing here ...
