RE: What's your favorite harmonica brand?

Hello, Favorits.

My favorite harmonica brand will always be Hohner, but I have played all of the major brands and a handful of the Chinese brands.

The Hohner Special 20 is my favorite in 10-hole diatonics. It's inexpensive, plays well, and is very durable. It also is easy to maintain.

I also like the Seydel Blues Session harps with the bronzed covers, and the Seydel Favorit with the black aluminum comb. It's a beauty.

Best regards

John Broecker

For the money I like the Suzuki Bluesmaster. I like the cover plates and durability but I don't like the Equal Tuning. I prefer the JI tuning so if I'm feeling adventurous I retune them. When they blow out I replace the reed plates or buy Harp masters and take the plates off.
I like the Delta Frost at the special price but getting them could be a problem.

My favorites are the same as Dutchbones-the Bushman Delta Frost and the Suzuki Harpmaster with the Suzuki Bluesmaster a close third favorite.

Besides my Tombo LOs, and perhaps because I didn't know much about any others  - Well, besides an off brand here and there, most of my sets are Hohner.  Spec20s; Golden Melodys; Big Rivers.

All seem to work out fine for where I'm at, so probably too late too invested to change up on anything now.  Next year though, will be looking for certain customized as well as chromatics harps!

It's all good!

Keep on harpin'!  aww

More a matter of what I can afford than what I would like to have.
You have to actually buy one of the little rascals to take it for a test drive.

That little bellows thing they have at the stores doesn't come close to giving you the true flavor of the thing.

A tease, really. I want it in my mouth, all sloppy...rub some dirt in it...  Then they wont take it back, Go Figure!

For me, it's Delta Frost (Bushman) and Harp Masters (Suzuki)  all the way.
I have been using some of them since I bought my first harmonica book from Jon (Gindick) 5-6 years ago and they are still playing like new...

They are easy on the lips because of the plastic combs and easy to bend, what else do you want?  What's your favorite choice?
