Usually water for me, maybe I'll try the hot tea thing. I know what NOT to drink ... anything carbonated. It will decide to come back up right in the middle of your solo :-)

Simple question right? might even require a simple answer such as " I grab my harp and blow - voila - perparation done"

Typically I just grab the one I want to play and off I go - the cat plays back-up. But Ive noticed that ive i'm drinking hot tea, or have just got done with a cup, I can bend better and it really shows in my head-shake - I get more consistant good headshake sound. Now, perhaps its just a coincidence, but I notice the same thing when singing too - hot liquids, perferably tea. Anyone else notice this? Im a learner for sure, so maybe all the tea does is get my lips working better - that with practice will work fine without it, but either way, it does seem to help.
