I learned to do the throat viberto when I tought myself to play a Tin Whistle (which is all blow notes), now that I'm learning to play a harp I have to learn to do it on the draw notes.......LOL Anyway one thing you need to be aware of is once learned (as BluesMike said) you seem to do it all the time. Even when you dont want to. Or as BluesMike said, "you do it to much in a song". I have found this to be a problem with a lot of different people not just myself.
As for doing a throat vibreto bent note. I believe once you get good a both, (learn to bend notes without the vibreto and do the vibreto without bending notes) mixing the two will be no problem. Just learn the two untill your good at both, then try doing them together.
Yes this is a hard question. You talking about the throat vibratoo? If you are.. well.. i cant do it consistently.. but when i do it i'm bending the note! This is my main weakness of playing harmonica. Then there are other tech of playing that needs resolved.. But that throat vibrato.. it something i wish i can do at will.. but not do it too much.. in a song.
Micha An extremely tough question. I can't do it very well, and those that can I don't think teach it very well. Dave Barrett's Complete Chicago Blues Harp has some interesting instruction on approaching this...vibrato, then choking, then choking (bent) vibrato. But I'm thinking this "may" be one of those things you almost have to keep working on until it comes to you. Heck, I'm still trying to get a decent unbent vibrato. Good Luck
Hi! I wonder if someone can help me with this problem, i can do the vibratoo but getting it to bend is hopeless! are there anyone that have any good exercise for bend vibratoo?
