RE: using a metronome

Thanks for the advice.
This metronome has various rhythems and beat patterns, so I'm doing things like the 4 draw surprise 4 times, moving up to the 5th hole and repeat the same pattern 4 times, and slowly stepping up the speed.
I noticed that besides helping with timing, it also has an effect on breathing (especially when playing continously for a longer time.
Glad I started with this...

This is the way I use it.

You set it on a very slow speed and practice whatever it is your having trouble with, at that speed. Once you get it down at that speed, turn it up two clicks, and do it again. Repeat. Slowly (two clicks at a time) work the speed up. If you get sloppy drop back to a slower tempo, and start over. This isn't a quick thing, it might take time (Hour's, day's, weeks...) depending on what it is your doing and what you want to accomplish.

Sometimes you'll want each click to represent a quarter note, other times eigth notes.

Got myself a digital metronome (seiko DM70) because I notice that I'm "off beat" sometimes, either too early or (sometimes) too late.
Is there anybody who has experience with using a metronome and perhaps can recommend some excercise(s) that will help me with improving my timing?
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated:weirdface:
