RE: Inner Compression

Yes, practice long, long 2 draws and 3 draws. By long, I mean counting

1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 and playing a 2 draw that gets louder and trails off

through those 8 beats. After you have done that and are getrting solid notes,

do triplets on each beat, using the ka to artciculate.

Thanks Jon for your reply, I have your tone a bending workshop to, Maybe it will come to me playing the Harp from your Stomach, Is there any exercises that I can do to help me acheive this.

I am talking about vibratto and playing from the gut.. You might want to add the
bending and tone workshop to your knowledge/experience. Jon

On page 48 Rock N Blues harmonica, Jon talks about Inner Compression, At the moment I am working on my tone trying to find that Chicago blues tone, Is it true when you Blow or Draw you tense up your stomach, I am a bit confused, Jon talked about pressurize a column of air as it enters and leaves and stays in your body, what does he mean by this?

I dont have any problems with the harp in my mouth, I put it a far a possible without losing the clear note, the problem is the sound is very thin.
