Andy... Now that the Charlotte Jam Camp is over, I wanted to let you know that it was good to meet you and your son. You are right...your son is in a great position to do some neat things, musically with his life. With his musical background that he already has...he is on his way. I wish that I had had a father who instilled what you have done with your son. My father made me get out of "Band Studies" when I was in middle school. It was the one thing that I really loved in school. But when one is 6' 5" and weighs 240 as a junior in high school...you play defensive end...not the trumpet.
I am in my 50's and I am now playing "catch up."
Fortunately....Jon offers these Jam Camps! Just what we harpers need! Wish I could have found out about these Camps years ago!!!
I'll be there, along with my 15 year old son. He's a pretty good musician, guitar, bass and trombone, and he's starting to play harp now. I have a 15 year old who loves the blues, how blessed am I?
I live in the Atlanta area and play in a couple of bands. I am coming to Jon's Charlotte Jam Camp the first week of November 2006...really looking forward to it.
Anyone else from the Atlanta area coming? Any folks from Florida...which is my home state. Should be really good!
