RE: Inner Compression

Delboy, I finally found it. The link in your post had an extra space I had to remove before hitting "Go." Thanks.

Mark, if you click on Delboy's name, you can select his "user profile" which includes the various topics he started and responded to. From there you can select the "inner compression topic"
Good luck!

Thanks Delboy, For some reason the link won't work. All I get is a white screen.

I picked up Rock n' Blues Harmonica this weekend and started reading.

I'm interested in what's described on page 48 (2000 edition) as Inner Compression. Described as one of the greatest secrets of harmonica tone, inner compression pressurizes a column of air as it enters and leaves and stays in one's body. This is achieved by slightly resisting the airstream at one's lips-and everywhere else.

Is there more written about this method somewhere. I can't really understand what Jon is talking about. I feel rather silly trying to tense up various muscles of my body trying to create back pressure in the tissues of my body ~

It's important for me to learn more about this accurately - I play with harp on a rack while accompanying harp with guitar and vocals ~ I want to get this right and natural from the beginning.

Can anyone point me to a more descriptive, technical description of this method, please?

Thanks.

By the way - great book!
