Planing a trip to see my Sister in the Tampa area. She hooked me up with a guitar player that plays Wednesday night open mic at a local pub.

He said a song he would like to do is called "the pilgrim" by Kris Kristofferson.
Learned the song. Pretty straight forward first position piece, great lyrics.

Worked up a simple intro, play single notes, chords, chord/ single note mix and octive splits. I think I have played it every way it can be played. I guess the final arrangement will depend to some extent on how he plays the song and and what works when we get together.

Could be that the single note, straight up thing is the way to go. Any thoughts?
