Good morning everyone. I need your advice please. I've have been playing for a few months now. I've been listening and playing with some of Jon's stuff and some Barret stuff as well. I'm finding it much easier to improve over 12 bar blues then say a country tune. When I try to play with a country tune I seem lost as to what type riffs to play. Only a few of the blues riffs seem to somewhat work. I think the blues is more like an open slate to do with what you want musically. But country seems to be stiffened by the melody. As much as I love to improve with the blues, I play drums in a country rockabilly type band. So I need to get a handle on this country type stuff. I've seen tons of "learn the blues" type books but what about a good country style book. I don't mean bluegrass or folk but a modern country style. Are most country songs played in 2nd position like blues? Do I need to try a different type harp? Anyway, if any of you guys understand what I'm talking about perhaps you can offer some advice to help me make this transition. Thanks...
