I think the best metronome out there is your right foot:biggrin:

I just went out bought the KORG TM-40, its a metronome and Tuner.

$35 and worth every penny, it's about the size of a cigaretter pack runs on 2# AAA batteries.

Great for improving on your timing and getting those bends to stay on pitch.

Should have bought one years ago!!!

They're defective then - throw 'em out. I have the same problem with guitar players ;-)

The problem with all the metronomes I've tried is that none of them seem to be able to follow me when I speed up and slow down.

Downloading is one way, but you need to sit in front of your computer is you want to use it, which might not always be ideal.
I have a Seiko DM 70 that has options for tempo, various beat/rhythm patterns and volume. You can use it as is, or with an ear/headphone. I personally prefer a portable metronome cause I like to practice in the park sometimes and it would be hard to tug a computer along.

Actually, if you don't have a tuner yet, you might want to look into the newer type metronomes that include a tuner. That way you can also check your bending etc with the same equipment, the size doesn't really get that much bigger and price wise it's about the same as buying them seperately.
I already had a tuner ,I bought one a few weeks BEFORE I got my metronome :bleh:.....

So if you're only using it at home, get the free one , if you want portability and lots of useful options, get a Seiko (or simular, with or without a tuner)

HI there, as we all now christmas is here, and I'm sitting now writing my whishlist for this christmas, and one of the things Im adding is a Metronom, I am still a beginger but I don't seem that is a reason to not experiment, with this device.

My question is which one should I whish for ?

there are the QUARTZ one's and then the Digital ones, my only use for it will be pratiscing with it, with my harp.

I have found one in my local music shop
there is the SQ50 http://www.seiko-syd.co.jp/music/product/metronome/sq70-50.html#50

Which seems fine to me, but I was just wondering if any of you guys has some suggestion, or what to look for.

8-)
